Tomorrow is D Day for the 2016 NSW Championship. I am in a great position to win the championship or get runner up. I am a bucket of nerves. I’m really looking forward to getting tomorrow over & done with no matter what the outcome. I know that I’ve done the best I can do & that’s all anyone can ask for. If you are free tomorrow get on down to Sydney Dragway to watch some awesome drag racing action from 9.30am
Well race fans the Winter break is over, the car is ready to go & I am busting to get back out on track for the final 3 rounds of the NSW Championship Series at Sydney Dragway. I feel like I haven’t raced in so long.
The last 3 rounds of the Championship are going to be interesting. I am currently sitting in equal 2nd in the points & only 20 points behind 1st place. The racers that I am competing against, especially at the top end of the pointscore, are extremely experienced so to even be close to them in the Championship us a massive achievement. I guess I’ll just have to try my hardest & see what happens.
During the winter break I put my race car in 2 car shows, 1 at Horsley Park which was raising money for breast cancer awareness & the 2nd one at Tomago up near Newcastle which was raising money for advanced driver training for kids in rural areas. Being a country girl myself who also had a very serious car accident, this cause is very close to my heart. I would like to see Australia introduce driving training into all high schools before kids go for their L’s, maybe then we can stop losing so many young lives on our roads.
Well guys & girls that’s all for today. I hope to see you all at Sydney Dragway on Saturday 24 September for Round 5 of the NSW Championship Series. Racing starts at 9am & trust me, you don’t want to miss a minute. Come down to the pits & say hi.
Big things are happening here. Belinda Welch Drag Racing is very excited to unveil the new look car this coming Saturday at Round 7 of the NSW Championship Series at Sydney Dragway. The pointscore for the championship is very close & I’m currently sitting in 5th position only 80 points behind the racer in 1st. My aim for this season was to finish in the top 10 & so far this goal is looking very achievable. I feel incredibly honoured to be racing against some of the toughest Super Street racers in the country.
If you are free this Saturday get on out to Sydney Dragway & check out the best drag racing action this country has to offer.
Well race fans it’s been a VERY long time between passes but the wait is just about over. This Saturday 29 August is Round 6 of the NSW Championship Series at Sydney Dragway. With over 200 racers competing (as well as a few big names making some test hits) it is bound to be an awesome day.
Currently I am sitting in 5th in the Championship points for Super Street which is an extremely good effort considering it’s only my first my year competing at this level & against some of Australia’s toughest Super Street racers who have years of experience under their belts.
The car is locked & loaded & I am more excited than ever to get out there & go fast.
Bring the family out to Sydney Dragway, Ferrers Road, Eastern Creek from 8.30am this Saturday & witness some of the best drag racing action this country has to offer. While you are there come on down to the pits (pit access included for every spectator) & get your autographed hero card from me.
Hope to see you there.
Woohoo racing time this Saturday. With the cancellation of the Nitro Champs at the beginning of the month it feels like forever since I have been down the race track. The long wait is finally just about over. Looking forward to seeing my beloved drag racing family & hopefully bringing home some more points.
Round 3 of the NSW Championship Series at Sydney Dragway on Saturday 30 May is celebrating Women in Motorsport so come on out & give all the fantastic wives, daughters & Mothers like myself a big cheer. I hope to see everyone there. Racing from 8.30am.
The week of the Nitro Champs is just about to start. Only 5 sleeps till I hit the track for the first National meeting to be held at Sydney Dragway this year. This event will be massive, 9 Top Fuel Dragsters all trying to get into an 8 car field. I am so excited it’s ridiculous!
Sunday saw me compete at Round 2 of the NSW Championship Series at Sydney Dragway. The day started off well with the car running consistent & me getting reasonably good reaction times. After my 3 qualifying runs I was positioned in the number 2 spot in the qualifying list for elapsed time & number 1 for speed. I progressed through 4 rounds of eliminations to make it to the final. Although I didn’t win the final I am still extremely pleased to walk away with a Runner Up trophy. This was my first ever trophy in Super Street which is pretty impressive considering it’s only the 2nd time I’ve raced in that class.
None of this would be possible without my sponsors Bullock Manufacturing, Normans Scrap Metal, Craigs Automatics & Throttle Gals Australia Magazine. Also thank you to my husband Matt, my Mum & Dad & my father in law for all their help & support.
Only 1 more sleep until Round 2 of the NSW Championship Series at Sydney Dragway. I’m excited to race & my 2 little boys are excited because they get to see their Nanny & Poppy. My parents travel 2 1/2 hours to support me & watch me race. Although the entry numbers are down from Round 1 there are still a lot of tough racers in my field. Hopefully I can do well & bring home some good championship points. Hope to see you all there.
Entry is in & the car is all set for Round 2 of the NSW Championship Series at Sydney Dragway this Sunday 12 April. Hopefully I will be on my game a little bit more than I was in Round 1. I would love to see everyone trackside. I need all the cheering on I can get if I am going to have a chance against the big boys in Super Street. Come on down to the pits & say hi. Hurry up Sunday ☺
