I had a great season last year in Womens Rugby League 2016 I was apart of the NSW V QLD defeat in which QLD had not been beaten in 18 years we came out winners for then first time this made history, followed by Cronulla Caringbah winning the Sydney Metro Competion in our first year defeating Greenacre. I have also been signed a contract with the Womens 9s for Cronulla Sharks being apart of the History once again.
2017 is an exciting year, I have been selected to take part in the Auckland 9s representing Australia followed by the AllStars which will be played straight after the nines in Newcastle this is very exciting..
2017 is also the year for the World Cup I am training hard and hopefully i can get myself selected in this team to be played towards the end of the year. There is also a Test Match in May which I am also hoping for selection.
I have been granted an Ambassadore Role for the NRL (this is yet to be announced) so I am so proud and excited to see what this brings..
Since my last post, which was after my shoulder surgery, I am recovering well. My rehab has been hard with physio a couple of times a week, which I am still doing, and I am in the gym everyday. So I am hoping hard work pays off..to build my body back up..and make myself stronger than what I was before.
In August, I was finally back on the field playing Touch at Vawdon Cup for my club, Eastern Suburbs, in which we made the Grandfinal. I was so excited being back playing. Unfortunately, we went down to Manly who where the better team on the day..
We are now preparing for state cup in December, which is one of my favourite tournaments. Just love being up against the best players.
This weekend I have my first Jillaroos Camp on the Gold Coast. I am so excited to be back preparing for Rugby League. I am a bit nervous at the same time, as my last time with the Jillaroos was back in January at the Auckland Nines, where I suffered my shoulder injury – but in staying this, I have been working hard With Milton Dymock on techniques with wrestling and tackling, along with other drills. My head is in the right space, so I cant wait to be back with the girls and the coaching staff this coming weekend. This is a selection process for the Auckland Nines in February 2016, I am hoping to gain my position back with the Australia Jillaroos…
Unfortunately in January playing in the Auckland Nines for the jillaroos in the last minute and tackle of the game I dislocated my shoulder I have since had surgery and I am now in rehab
I had a stabilisation to the shoulder I am out of league for this season which is devastating and also ruled me out of World Cup for touch which was my dream.
I have to look forward work hard and I should be back for vawdon cup in August for touch and back in 2016 for league.
It’s pretty shattering with Anzac test coming up but I have to put in the hard yards to get back out on the paddock and I am prepared for that. This is what contact sport is all about.
So good luck to my jillaroos and our Aussie touch teams at World Cup
